Friday, May 4, 2012, 7:30 P.M. Showing of the DVD – “Jesus, Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls” “A Site Shrouded in Mystery” “Come with Hershel Shanks and the Biblical Archaeology Society to explore the site where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered – Qumran.” The DVD will take you to Qumran to examine the ruins up close. “The breathtaking cinematography makes it the next best thing to actually being there.” They ask leading Bible scholars and archaeologists some of the following questions: 1) “Did John the Baptist live at Qumran? 2) Did Jesus know the Essene Jews who probably created the Dead Sea Scrolls? 3) How were the scrolls discovered and why were they hidden? 4) Why did it take so long for them to be published?” The answers to these questions and much more will be revealed in this DVD.
